BHC provides world-class customer service from surveying through construction with services related to land transactions, development of sites, road and utility improvements, subdivision design, long and short-haul fiber design, construction administration services, staking, and inspections. Once the decision was made to expand into Wichita, the area of town was an easy one for the company… they knew they wanted to be in the heart of the city by settling in downtown. After looking at several spaces, they kept coming back to the Ice House.

As the lead architect for the building’s initial renovation, Alloy Architecture was selected to design BHC’s Wichita office space. Their vision for the revitalized space centered around respecting the historical nature and architecture of the building while creating an innovative space.

Technology-enhanced areas in the office allow team members to collaborate, solve challenges, achieve goals, and deliver client service. Throughout the space, you can see how the building’s original details intersect with the modern materials and design. Tucker added, “The Ice House has provided us with just the right amount of space to accommodate our 20-plus employees as well as house the historic records and data brought under our umbrella through the acquisition. The space is also a great fit with the overall BHC brand and the office experience we have in our other locations. We pride ourselves on having spaces that are not only great for employees, but also client meetings and community events and engagement.”

Tucker added, “Everyone loves the new space. We’ve already been able to utilize the flexibility of the space to not only have more traditional private client meetings, but also have impromptu group meetings, and even host a sneak peek during an American Institute of Architects event. Our business is definitely growing, and we feel we are in the right location to do that.”
