The west side’s most anticipated new pizza place is now open

Aspiria NOW, the coworking workspace offering on the Aspiria campus, has expanded its facility to accommodate its growing need for additional private offices and dedicated workstations. The expansion extended the coworking space to the third floor of its existing building, with an additional 30,000 sq feet that include 11 new private offices, 60 dedicated workstations, and increased collaboration areas.
With an expanding space comes increased responsibilities, and Aspiria NOW has brought on Kathy Todtenhausen to serve as Community Manager, supporting General Manager, Robert Curland, in a variety of functions. Todtenhausen holds a BA from Northwest Missouri State University and a Project Management Essentials Certification from the Management and Strategy Institute.
“We have a unique and positive culture here at Aspiria NOW,” said Curland. “Kathy’s genuine, passionate personality and her past experience in customer service, project management, and purchasing will all serve her will and be a great asset to our organization in nurturing and building relationships.”
The facility has also launched a new-and-improved website at aspirianow.com that makes it easier to book office and conference room spaces and better showcases the property and available amenities.
The opening of Aspiria NOW, just one year ago in August 2022, has been greeted by widespread acceptance in the Overland Park business community. The area’s largest coworking facility, Aspiria NOW currently boasts more than 28 member companies with more than 230 team members.
The pendulum is swinging back to getting the workforce back into the office space. Aspiria NOW is an ideal solution for entrepreneurs just getting their businesses started, those who work for a company remotely yet still want a collaborative office environment, and growing businesses who want the room to grow as well as the convenience of not having to maintain or upkeep an office space.
Most notably Aspiria NOW has attracted many from the technology sector and includes software engineers in healthcare, construction, manufacturing, and IT support.
“When you open a coworking facility, you never know exactly who you’ll attract,” said Robert Curland, General Manager at Aspiria NOW. “We’ve been excited by the response we’ve received from the technology sector which represents more than a quarter of our members.”
Curland, a leader in the coworking industry, attributes this success to several factors including high-speed/secured connectivity and collaborative work areas. However, he also points out that when companies are trying to attract young talent, the amenities on the Aspiria campus are very attractive. On-site food options, the 65,000-sq-ft Aspiria Fitness Center, a park-like setting, community-sponsored events, and free covered parking are all appealing.
Kansas City has become a hub for the engineering team at Auxilius, a New York-based software company offering financial planning and analysis technology solutions for clinical research and development businesses, and Aspiria NOW fits the needs of that team.
Cem Oztas, VP of Engineering for Auxilius, says he and his local team formerly worked out of another coworking facility but found Aspiria NOW provided the open, collaborative space they desired.
“It’s just a different feel from the other coworking spaces,” said Oztas. “The centralized location is convenient for all our team driving in, but there are also a lot of amenities here for us to enjoy. The food truck Wednesdays are great for team lunches, and the beautiful buildings and green spaces provide lots of walking opportunities. The space also provides room for us to grow. We currently have 10 engineers on campus, but we continue to grow, and the space just makes sense for us.”
Aspiria NOW memberships are available in a variety of flexible plans, including daily, month-to-month and long-term packages. The more than 80,000-square-foot facility can also accommodate corporations that need temporary spaces for special projects or hybrid workspace options.
